While in Seward, we camped in the tent Uncle Larry loaned us (thanks, Larry!) and we slept right on the bay in Resurrection Bay. Watched the birds fly, walked through town and to the harbor, and even went to the aquarium to catch a glimpse of all sorts of fish and birds. Cute little town but can get busy as the cruise ships dock right there in the harbor. We were camping right along side about a thousand other RV'ers - literally hundreds there in town. Once again, we forgot about it being a holiday weekend... good thing we got there early to get our spot to set up our tent.

We hiked up to the Exit Glacier and that was cool to see, but Matt wants to get some "action" from a glacier - watch it calving (breaking off into the water) so we will keep our eyes open for that and may get to see that while in Cordova. I have my eyes open to see a moose. I've seen them far off and the back end of one while driving on the freeway, but nothing worth noting. I want one walking close to me! We'll see.

After Seward, we drove to Palmer to meet up with Julie & Ryan one last time. We spent hours at the Alaska State Fair and that was fun. Drank wine and wandered around munching on fried foods (ugh). No rides for us, but Julie had reserved us a room at a hotel right across the street from the fair, so all we had to do was stumble back and go to sleep. Perfect day for the fair also - sunny & hot!
Now we're in Valdez awaiting the ferry to take us over to Cordova where we'll be from today until September 7th. We'll be staying with Ken & Page, our friends we met in Dutch Harbor. Should be a fun week. I'll be in touch!!! Happy Labor Day to you all - hope you have a great short work week.

Uncle Larry,
Hi Holly amd Matt,
What a trip you are having. Dad said you nearly owned one of those cute puppies:) Good thing they were spoken for.
Just wondering what the local Alaskans think about their Gov. being the VP pick??
Thinking about you lots and missing you both!!!
Love,
Carol
Uncle Larry - YES you should! Holy cow, it's beautiful up here. And little traffic... gotta love it. Still on the lookout for land, so we'll keep you posted. How's the trailer doing? Should be down by first week of October so we can get it outta your yard. You'll have to kick out Big Foot at that time. ;)
Love ya!
Hi Carol!!! xoxox
Funny you should ask about Palin - well, it's sort of a joke up here, being she's only been Gov. for 2 years and has little experience. Guess Mr. M. needed someone good looking to stand next to him during all this. What's better than an ex-model type?
Hmmmmm...
Love ya! We're having a great time in Cordova!!! Staying with vet and so we're seeing all sorts of critters this week.
