Alaska State Fair to Valdez

Last Saturday, August 30 we met up with Julie & Ryan in Palmer to attend the Alaska State Fair. Fun day and boy was it sunny & warm! Perfect day to be out there. That's Julie & Ryan & BB on the motorcycle they rode to meet us there.

This is the infamous Bridal Veil Falls just outside of Valdez.

On Sunday, August 31 we drove down to Valdez where we stayed one night. The drive through the pass was spectacular and it felt like we were on another planet. Cold and rocky but was really cool to see. Valdez had their fishing derby going on so we were able to see people with their buckets of fish and all of the boats sitting in the harbor.

On Monday, Labor Day we hopped on the ferry from Valdez and headed to Cordova where we are now. The pictures of the rainbow are over Valdez as we were leaving. It was cloudy and gloomy until then and it showed up out of nowhere. Ferry took about 2 hours and was really comfy.
