Matt, Bailey & I just got back from a quad/motorcycle ride up Bullion Canyon to a spot that a lady in town told us to go see. It is the old ghost mining town of Bullion City, which was an active mine until 1938 when the mill & mines closed because the cost of producing an ounce of gold exceeded the market value of gold which was $35 an ounce at that time (NOTE: It's $400 an ounce now-a-days! Time for us to start mining gold). Besides seeing a bit of history, we were also able to take in the beauty of the area around us. The aspen, spruce, & fir trees shadowed the trail making it seem a bit eerie, but calming at the same time. We didn't see anyone on the trail and really enjoyed ourselves.
After touring the mining sites, we hiked up to the Bullion Falls which were also beautiful. This is the perfect time to see them as the water was really rushing. I played around with shots on my camera and got the shutter timing just right - let me know what you think. Water is one thing that I find very hard to capture. And do you see that there is still snow here? Yes, our water hose froze last night so it tells you we're definitely out of the desert now!
We're heading North to a Utah State Park (not sure which one at this point) tomorrow and will be riding on some additional trails that we hope to find as amusing as this one today.
P.S. Piute County, where we are, was home to Butch Cassidy - the legendary outlaw. No one knows where he is buried as it was kept a secret so trophy hunters wouldn't unearth his remains. Hmmmmm.... interesting stuff, huh?!?!

Sounds like quite an adventure we still have antifreeze in our camper so we have a lot of catching up to do. I am going to get it out and try to take a trip at the end of the month. It is getting nice around here but with graduations we will be on standby until the end of the month. We will have a spot for you in june the only thing we have is a wedding and a family reunion on the 21st and 22nd but the plug in for your camper is right under the hose, call me and I will give you the code to the garage door so you can make yourselves at home until we get back. Keep up the exploration it sounds like you are doing a good job so far! Love You Dale B.
Hi Dale!!! Thanks for the message. Yes, get that camper set up. We will be out there the end of June, but it may be the last week. We'll definitely let you know prior so you'll be around. Otherwise, we'll just call you and have huge, ragin' parties at your house. Stock up the fridge with beer and cubbards with snacks! ;) love you! Holly
Hey guys looks like you are having a grand time! Your waterfall shots
came out great, the slow shutter speed really makes the water look
cool. Hope you get to see Arches while you are in the area, its very
pretty this time of year. Take care, Mike Jordan
Hey Holly,
Sounds like you are having a great time!! You are seeing some fantastic stuff!! Can't wait until we get together in July!
Melissa
Hi Mike! Hope you're doing well. Having a great time with the camera and getting to play with all of the gadgets on it, that's for sure. :) Both Matt and I are learning all the in's & out's and it's fun to do.
Yes, we just made it to Moab and Arches is on the list this week. It's 100 degrees so we're "chilling" out in the a/c for a while.
Melissa - YEA!! I can't wait to see you either. Send me pics of your summer adventures. Aren't you off to Europe soon?
