Things are coming together!

It's been a good week for us. We sold my Jeep Cherokee (YA!) and got to see our trailer for the first time (hot off the trailer press). We're not picking it up for another week as we don't have a place to park it just yet. For those of you that have seen our driveway, you know why - too much of an incline to park it here.

Here are some pictures of the trailer from today. You can sort of get an idea of it. The 2 queen beds are actually raised up and you can barely see them in the pictures from the back of the trailer. There is a switch that slowly brings them down from the raised position and they make a bunk bed. Pretty cool way to keep room for our Quad (4-Wheeler) and motorcycle which will sit under the beds when raised.

More pictures once we're on the road, of course, but you can now see the small, yet efficient space we'll be living in for the next year. This is our last week of work, then prepping house for sale and we'll be off!

We've Made the Decision to Travel

Well, this is it. Matt & I have decided to quit our jobs, leave our house in Salem, OR, and head out in a 23' travel trailer for a year (or as long as our budget allows). Our hopes are to see much of the United States via the road, see all the beauty that our country has to offer, visit friends and family, and meet new friends along the way.

We don't have much of a plan, but we will be leaving Oregon mid-March 2008 and heading South where the sun is shining. We want to keep our options open in case we stop in a place that we just love. Those places, we'll stay longer and travel on when we feel the need.

We ask you, our friends & family, to keep in touch via email and this blog so we can keep up on how you're doing and if we'll be in your neck-of-the-woods, we can plan to see you. In return, we promise to keep this blog updated with pictures and stories of our adventures along the way.

Here's to our upcoming adventures, our safety, our lasting relationship, and to our health during the next year!
